Le Parisien gais et style de chasse ornent nos pages!

JO AYRES

My name is Josephine (or Jo) Ayres, and I am a self-taught creative person who loves a challenge. I am based in Perth, Australia. Everything is handmade by me except the stockings using vintage and new materials. This year's IFDC doll I've done I'm calling "Runway Runaway." She comes with handmade shoes, a fake fur stole in "fox" that is fully lined. I used a houndstooth weave material for both her outfit and her hat; also silk, ribbons, and plenty of lace.
The gloves are made of the same lace as the collar so they match. The vest is lined and comes off to reveal a tube dress with inserted lace pleats. The hat is lined and features black and red tulle ribbon, and has matching red roses on it in the hunting style. Earrings are pearl and diamonte beads.
The doll received and hair cut and features French braiding at the back ; red ribbon constrasts the black curls. I also did a repaint and enhancement, and she will come with a certificate of authenticity. You can see more of my dolls on my website.

La Maille En métal ajoute un contact spécial!
Laurie Everton

I'm Laurie Everton from “The Barbie Canvas” and Ive been doing OOAK dolls now for about 10 years. Mod and celebrities are my favorites to do; mod because I had them as a girl, and will always love mods, and Celebrities because I'm a portrait artist. I've been able to draw portraits in pencil as far back as junior high. I've taken art all through high school and some in college; specifically in Graphic Design and Advertising - and even had a couple of my drawings published.
My dolls have made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres in the viewer art segment, and local Fox news several times now. I even recently had the opportunity to work with Lita Ford on a special OOAK for breast cancer. My goal is to keep challenging myself by constantly improving with each OOAK.
This Natalia has had a total reroot with KatSilk saran hair, and a total facial repaint with Golden acrylic and sealers. Her outfit is handmade from metal mesh with hand painted boots.
To see more of my OOAKS, or to contact me, visit my website. You will also find "The Barbie Canvas" on Facebook.

D'hiver ne s'est jamais senti si belle!

years of my life, from an early age - like 5 years old. My folks who have both passed now instilled the love for dolls and toys in me. They owned and operated an antique reproduction and doll repair business for many years; making and restoring many of the prominent French and German antique bisque porcelain dolls. My Dad is actually the one who taught me how to sew, but, unfortunately, he didn’t live to see my somewhat small degree of success I have had in my chosen arena on 1/6 scale work.
I've had the distinct honor of being one of the many talented artists to be featured in one of Jim Faraone's Learn from the Artists series of books, which was a great honor for me. I have collaberated with some great doll artists thru the years. One I am particularly proud of was my collaberative work with Juan Albuerne from Spain. Juan and I collaberated on several versions of Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler, andPeggy Lee to name a few.
My OOAK Natalia has a stunning white dupioni silk gown that is fully lined in silk, and the gorgeous part is the thousands of star shaped sequins and beads that make up the design of the dress. Natalia truly shines brightly. And, I thank Jim for giving me the honor again of being one of the chosen artists to make a OOAK Natalia for IFDC 2010. Thanks for looking! Just email Kevin if you're interested in talking with him more about his doll work.

Une poupée de mode réinventé
Out of the mind of Jim Faraone comes a project so delicious it could only be tackled by his friends in his Fashion Doll Makeover group. And, oh, what talented friends he has!
Jim would send each artist Integrity's Natalie Fatale BACK TO BLACK (nude) for a special sale in support of the IFDC at the 2010 convention.
Each artist would do a fashion doll makeover on this doll and return it to him no later than May 2010.
No restrictions were given to the artists as to theme or preferred style to use - they all were being given a blank canvas!
Jim led the pack, completing FOUR dolls by
New Year's 2010!!
Jim Faraone has been creating OOAK dolls since 1986 and is the author of the series of books "Fashion Doll Makeovers, Learn from the Artists." Jim is the Chairman of the International Fashion Doll Convention (IFDC) which is an annual convention for all fashion dolls held in Las Vegas each year. Read about the.........IFDC
Cheryl joined Jim's online group in 2001, and has been a member since then. Cheryl creates OOAK dolls and also outfits. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina came took everything from Cheryl and her family. It also took away her desire to create dolls. It has been four years and she's finally getting back to creating. Cheryl wishes to thank Jim for the motivation when he sent out an email asking for help with the IFDC makeover Natalia. She has been working on dolls for the last month. Cheryl loves to do beadwork and especially loves to make bellydancers. Now she has lots of ideas floating around in her brain and her fingers are itching to work! She considers herself a novice when it comes to styling hair, but definitely can crochet a dress because she has been crocheting for dolls for four years now. She doesn't like to crochet for people though, because it takes too long. She features her crocheted fashions on..........Photobucket and you can email Patty if you find something you are interested in.

JOE BOURLAND
Joe Bourland lives in the great state of Texas, and started designing dolls in March of 2001. Getting into designing was purely an accident. Designing Barbies was her sister's dream; Joe had not even looked at a Barbie in over 30 years. Against her better judgment she pulled together a used Barbie, a few scraps of material from a nearby Wal-Mart, and started her first attempt at "dressing a Barbie." What a nightmare that design was! But no more - through the years she's had the time of her life; never having this much fun playing with Barbies when she was a little girl. She claims no degrees or formal training in design work. Her dreams are the institutions of learning for her doll designs.
